Robotic technology deals with the study of Robots. A Robot is defined as an Electronic device that is pre-installed with some programs to perform a variety of tasks such as moving and lifting parts, tools and some specialized devices. A Robot mainly consists of mechanical devices like wheeled platform, arms and a flexible body in order to interact with its surrounding environment. It also sensors throughout the device to sensethe objects and can manipulate the distances at which the objects are placed around. A Robot is installed with some sensory inputs in order to understand and react to the given situation.

Robots are highly used in testing the nuclear weapons, power plants and in the processing of certain drugs. Robots are very useful in performing some risky and unpleasant jobs like welding, janitorial work. We can the great advantage of robots in the manufacturing area where lots of repetition process is required, so it can easily be replaced with a number of manual workers and can also perform the task much faster than the manual workers. Robots are also used in space exploration where minimum maintenance is required. Apart from these advantages robots also contribute in many things in today's world by serving human kind to a great extent. Robots can also be found in some toys which are very attractive for the children to play with.

Thus Robots are incorporating into our everyday life with a wide range of service right from health care to entertainment.
